Hubei Wanrun New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is a manufacturing plant for Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cathode materials, situated in Shiyan City, Hubei Province, China. Annually, the plant supplies LFP to companies such as Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) and BYD. The wastewater generated during the production process contains approximately 16,000 mg/L of ammonium sulfate. Besides, depending on the internal production procedures, a certain quantity of ammonium phosphate is produced intermittently.
To achieve Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), Wanrun Group, the factory’s owner and process designer, in cooperation with Shenzhen Huahongqingyuan Environmental Protection Technology, has employed a complex combination of brine concentration technologies, including Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Ultra – High – Pressure Reverse Osmosis (UHPRO). Initially, a three – cylinder piston high pressure pump was utilized in the system. Nevertheless, due to its drawback of high maintenance cost, the client desired a high – pressure pump with greater stability and lower usage cost. Eventually, FENGJI’s DHP15 high pressure pump was recognized by the client for its superior operational stability, more compact size, and maintenance – free characteristics.
Our technical team collaborated with Hubei Wanrun New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. We determined the rated parameters, operating parameters of the on – site three – cylinder piston high – pressure pump, as well as the requirements for improvement and upgrade. We decided to replace the entire plunger pump unit, including the motor. Eventually, the solution of DHP15 high – pressure pump + 55KW motor was finalized. Meanwhile, Hubei Wanrun New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. organized its technical team to visit the sites of our other application projects to further confirm the operational stability of FENGJI’s high – pressure pumps.
The DHP15 high – pressure pump by FENGJI, when applied in the Ultra – High – Pressure Reverse Osmosis (UHPRO) system, operates stably with minimal pulsation. It has a more compact size, which better meets the usage requirements of the UHPRO system. It requires no maintenance for 8000 hours, eliminating the need to change the lubricating oil every 500 hours. This not only makes it more environmentally friendly but also greatly reduces the operating costs and eases the workload of daily maintenance staff.
Hubei Wanrun New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is highly satisfied with the upgrade and improvement of the high – pressure pump. The company plans to comprehensively promote this transformation within the group to enhance the factory’s operational efficiency and reduce production costs.
