FENGJI’s high pressure pump and ERDs are applied in the seawater desalination plant on Fodu Island

The DHP11 high pressure pump and two HEX(S)-20/60 – 3 energy – recovery devices have been successfully applied in the Jinzhushan Seawater Desalination Emergency Construction Project on Fodu Island, Liuheng. The project has been officially put into use and can produce 500 tons of fresh water per day, effectively alleviating the safe water – use problems of the residents on Fodu Island and the constructors of the second phase of the Liuheng Highway Bridge.

The Jinzhushan seawater desalination project has a total investment of 3.8 million yuan. It consists of two units, each with a daily water – production capacity of 250 tons. After the project is operational, the daily water supply on Fodu Island has increased from the previous range of 160 – 200 tons to 500 tons.

As an important infrastructure, the seawater desalination project not only effectively addresses the water – use issues of local residents and the construction area of the second phase of the Liuheng Bridge, providing Fodu Island with a stable water – resource guarantee, but also significantly contributes to improving the island’s living environment and further creating a favorable investment – promotion environment.

The Jinzhushan Seawater Desalination Project on Fodu Island originally used Danfoss’ APP13 high pressure pump. When the APP13 high – pressure pump was renovated and upgraded, the customer chose our DHP11 high pressure pump. The excellent quality and stable operation of the DHP11 won the customer’s support. For subsequent seawater desalination projects with a daily water production of 500 tons, it was decided to adopt our DHP11 high pressure pump and HEX(S)-20/60 – 3 energy – recovery device.

FENGJI’s high – pressure pumps and HEX energy – recovery devices (ERD) are the core of this project plan. The project uses two DHP11 high pressure pumps and two HEX(S)-20/60 – 3 energy recovery devices, which significantly reduces energy consumption.

The independently developed DHP11 high – pressure pump and HEX(S)-20/60 – 3 energy – recovery device feature outstanding performance, stable operation, and a recovery efficiency of 92%, leading the industry in terms of performance. The DHP11 high – pressure pump has a volumetric efficiency of 92%, which is highly efficient and more energy – saving and environmentally friendly.

During the project commissioning, we dispatched experienced on – site service engineers to provide strong technical support for the commissioning and operation of the seawater desalination project. In actual operation, the DHP11 operates at a pressure of 60 Bar, with a water – production capacity of 10 cubic meters per hour, meeting the customer’s expected water – production quality and quantity. The HEX(S)-20/60 – 3 energy recovery device is an active energy – recovery device. It doesn’t require pressure – difference adjustment and can directly adjust the flow rate of the energy – recovery device by adjusting the motor speed, saving a large amount of commissioning time. At the same time, it also facilitates daily operation and maintenance. The HEX(S)-20/60 – 3 energy recovery device integrates a booster pump, eliminating the need for customers to purchase a separate booster pump. This reduces the procurement cost, improves the system integration, and saves installation space. With a recovery efficiency as high as 92%, it saves the customer a large amount of electrical energy, significantly reducing the energy consumption per ton of produced water to 3 KW/h, cutting costs and being more environmentally friendly.

The seawater desalination project was officially put into operation in January 2024. The equipment operates fully automatically and is in good operating condition. In the competition with international counterparts, FENGJI’s high pressure pumps and energy – recovery devices have demonstrated strong competitiveness and won the customers’ trust. They have also solved problems such as unstable water pressure and insufficient water supply that often occur during peak water – use periods for customers. It ensures the water supply for production and daily life on the island.It is also a successful application of Fengji’s high – pressure pumps and energy – recovery devices.
